The Ribble Valley Liberal Democrat team is committed to campaigning all-year round for local people on the issues that matter to them.

In particular recently they have been campaigning on issues such as the health service, recycling and the countryside.

Before they budget the local team collected hundreds of signatures calling on the chancellor to reverse the cut in income tax and put the extra money into the budget.

With the extra going into the budget to help our health service many were pleased that people power and the Liberal Democrats in Ribble Valley had yet again made the Government change its mind.

The local team have also been campaigning changes to glass packaging. Currently so much green glass is sent to bottle banks that it cannot all be recycled and some was nearly sent to landfill sites recently. (In Lancashire there is only a few years of landfill space left!!!)

At the same time there is not enough white and brown glass being recycled and in a recent motion to Ribble Valley Council Liberal Democrats called for supermarkets to take action and use less green glass and more brown and white.
